Areas
Areas appear in the diary view, down the left-hand side of ResDiary. To add a new area or edit an existing area this guide will take you through the steps.

1) Go to ​Settings​> ​Areas
2) Select the ​Segment​ you wish to edit (if not applicable, skip to Step3)
3) Select the ’Create New button
4) You can then set the parameters for this new area:
a)Name&Description
Name​ is what will appear in the diary, this will also appear on your widget if you have areas set up to display as an option during the booking process. The description ​is an internal only reference.
b)MaximumcoversYou can set the​maximum covers​ for this area. This is the total maximum number of people that you can fit in this area. So you may only have enough tables for 40 people, but in standing events, you can fit 65. So your maximum cover would be 65. This allows you to make a ‘Complete Area’ during the booking process for up to 65 people, this is the limit of covers for this area. You can also vary by days of the week, this allows you to change the maximum covers each day, once you tick the ​Varybydaysoftheweekbox you will see:
c)NotificationsTick the ‘​send email notifications to customers​’ box if you want customers to receive an email confirmation, modification, reminder, etc for this area you can tick the ‘​send SMSnotificationstocustomers​’ box if you haveSilverstreet SMS setup on your ResDiary. This will then allow you to send confirmation, reminder, and cancellation SMS notifications.
